Chinese porcelain Famille Rose:
Chinese Famille Rose porcelain, is porcelain decorated with mostly pink enamel, which was first used in the late Kangxi period. These colors were known to the Chinese as yangcai because they were first introduced from Europe (circa 1685).
By the time of the Yongzheng Dynasty (1722-35) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) these shades were favored over the translucent Famille Verte overglaze colors used in the past, and Famille Rose became particularly popular in this kingdom.
The history of the development of pottery in China began in the Neolithic period, in the middle of the Zhou Dynasty (5th-6th century BC). The heyday of Chinese pottery began during the Tang Dynasty (618-906 AD).
The production of hard porcelain, baked at a temperature of 1400-1460 ° C, begins in China during the reign of the Mongol Yuan Dynasty and culminates during the Ming Dynasty.
Many European monarchs of the 16th-18th centuries were passionate collectors of Chinese porcelain and decorated their palaces with “Chinese halls”, which they decorated in this style with works of art and porcelain from China.
