Biography:

Spyridon Skarvelis was a Greek painter of the Ionian School who distinguished himself mainly in landscape painting.

Spyridon Skarvelis was born in 1868 in Corfu. He attended painting classes initially at the School of Arts and Crafts of Corfu and later continued his studies in Trieste and Rome.

Spyridon Skarvelis later returned to Corfu where he participated together with other artists in the decoration of the Achillion mansion in the settlement of Gastouri.

Skarvelis then settled for a time in Egypt.

Skarvelis died in Corfu in 1942.
