Spyros Skarvelis (1868-1942) – Painting work “Cairo” is a Greek painting work, watercolor on paper, 57.0 X 34.0 cm.

Biography of the artist:

The Corfiot Painter Spyridon Skarvelis (1868 -1942) was a Greek artist, and opened a new chapter in Corfiot art. Spyridon Skarvelis has studied painting at the Art and Craft School of Corfu. He then studied in Trieste and Rome.

And later he settled in Egypt, where many of his works were painted. Many paintings by Spyros Skarvelis are in public and private collections in Greece and abroad.

However, paintings by Spyros Skarvelis are in the Parliament Gallery, in the Gallery of the Municipalities of Corfu and Rhodes, in the Averof-Tositsa Gallery, in the Leventis Collection and elsewhere.
Many of the Spyros Skarvelis works are in many public and private collections in Greece and abroad.

He was a very good and honest artist!
