Biography:
A student of Dimitriadis, he was one of those artists who, without ignoring the trends of contemporary sculpture, wanted to remain faithful to the teachings of classical art.
Thanasis Limnaios was trying to advance in depth in its understanding, to familiarize himself with its rules and to become a master of this strict technique, which has left us with so many great works.
That is why one of the main elements that characterize his work is his positive commitment to traditional forms, without this preventing him from moving forward to more revolutionary ones, especially in the last years of his life.
His work on marble, where the slightest misjudgment in the movement of the chisel can destroy an entire work, is the best example of the sureness of his technique. Because the sculptor, when he works in marble, has no room for experimentation, as with clay figures.
That is why, when evaluating his various works, we should pay special attention to those made in marble, such as “Affection” or “Little Girl with Braids”. The perfection of his work is best seen in these. Because Thanasis Limnaios, while simplifying his volumes and lines as much as possible, manages to render perfectly all the purity of a child’s physiognomy, its expressiveness, and at the same time all the essence of affection.

Shipment / Delivery
The shipping of goods is made within three working days after the payment.
For our shipments we use the Greek Post Office (ELTA).
