Biography:
Karas Christos was born in Trikala, Thessaly on December 9, 1930. After a short study at Panteion University (1948-1950) he enrolled in the Athens School of Fine Arts (1951), received his diploma (1955) and a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation. (1957) studied Fresco at the Paris School of Fine Arts.
He lived in Paris until 1963. At the same time he traveled to Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy, England. Later he made many trips to Venice, Basel, Kassel, Brussels, Berlin, attending major international exhibitions. In 1973 he left for New York on a scholarship from the Ford Foundation. He worked there for two years and traveled to Washington, Boston, Florida and Canada. In Greece, he actively participates in the effort to create a contemporary artistic climate with television appearances and numerous interviews in newspapers and magazines. He also founded with other artists the group “Tomi” (1963) and the Association of Artists (1976).
He also participates in the organization of the first Conference of Greek Plastic Artists (1963), the symposium on: Establishment of a Museum of Contemporary Art in Greece (1977), and the symposium on: Contemporary Art and Tradition (1981).
From 1955 until today, he has taken part in many group exhibitions in major capitals of Europe and America and in 1984 he represented Greece at the Venice Biennale. He held 40 solo exhibitions.
His works have been analyzed in extensive texts, Efi Ferentiou (1975) in the monograph Karas, painting from 1960 to 1975, Emmanuel Mavrommatis (1982) in the monograph Morphoplastic differences in the painting space of Christos Kara 1959-1963, 1976-1982 and Dora Iliopoulou-Rogan in the monograph Developments and maturation of an artistic polyphony (1987). Many articles by Greek and foreign critics in newspapers and magazines have also been written about his work.

Shipment / Delivery
The shipping of goods is made within three working days after the payment.
For our shipments we use the Greek Post Office (ELTA).
