Biography:
Demos Braessas (Aitoliko 1880 – Athens 1964) was a Greek Impressionist painter.
He was born in 1880 in Aitoliko and studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts from 1903 to 1909. Although at that time the academic perception of the Munich school was still prevalent, Braessas turned from early to late twentieth century. influenced by French Impressionism.
His interaction with artists such as Pericles Byzantios, Stelios Miliadis and Georgios Kosmadopoulos, as well as the work of Nikolaos Lytras, had a significant influence on his work.
Braessa’s work is dominated by outdoor painting in rich colors and bright tones under the influence of French Impressionism. His works include landscapes, ethnographies and still lifes.
Braessas was an active member of the trade union of artists: he participated in 1910 in the founding of the Association of Greek Artists, after the war he was an active member of the Art Chamber of Greece while in 1953 he participated in the Friendly Group, a short and short-lived artistic effort. He died in 1964 in Athens.

Shipment / Delivery
The shipping of goods is made within three working days after the payment.
For our shipments we use the Greek Post Office (ELTA).

You can also collect your orders from our store with no shipping cost.
