Biography:

Dionysios Kokkinos (1884 -1967) was a Greek historian, journalist, academic and writer.
He was born in Pyrgos Ilias. His father, Antonios, was a hagiographer, born in Amorgos. His mother, Angeliki Yiannopoulou, came from a family of ’21 fighters.
He studied at the Medical School of the University of Athens but interrupted his studies to study history, journalism and literature. He also enrolled in the School of Fine Arts.

He published the socialist newspaper “Mellon” during his studies in 1908 and 1909, which expressed the ideas of the group of Sociologists of Alexandros Papanastasi and around which many socialists and students rallied.

He worked for the newspapers Acropolis, Kathimerini, Patrida, Proteifousa, Hellinikon Mellon, Hellenic, Proia and Ethnos, as a philological collaborator, chronicler, correspondent, and which published many of his journalistic and philological studies. He wrote dozens of articles under the pseudonyms “Maccabeus”, “Ariel”, “Boulevardier”, “Paleos”, etc.

He was the director of the National Library from October 1935 to February 1954. In 1948, the Academy of Athens awarded him the “National Excellence of Letters and Arts” and, in 1950, elected him a member of the Class of Letters for the literary his work.

He was also a member of the board of directors of the National Theater as well as the Actors’ Labor Fund.

Shipment / Delivery

The shipping of goods is made within three working days after the payment.
For our shipments we use the Greek Post Office (ELTA).

You can also collect your orders from our store with no shipping cost.
