Biography:

Markos Venios was born in Folegandros and lives in Athens. He studied painting freely. From 1962 to 1990 he worked as a Conservator of Works of Art at the Archaeological Service of the Ministry of Culture. He has been dealing with painting systematically since 1969. He has participated with his works in more than four hundred group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

He has presented his works in twenty-six solo exhibitions. He participated in the Panhellenic Exhibitions 1975-1987. In the period 1972-76 he undertook the maintenance of the exhibits of the Kanellopoulos Museum and participated in their installation. For this work he was awarded a silver cup. He has also preserved most of the ceramic exhibits in the new Acropolis Museum.

His works are in the Ministries of Culture, Health, Welfare, the National Gallery, the AGET HERACLES Galleries. Antoniou, Thiras, Kouvoutsakis, Moschandreou, Syros. Also, in the Museums of the city of Athens (Vourou-Eutaxia), Vorre, Eftalioti, Kalamata, Kotopoulis, in collections abroad, such as the collections of George Bush, Archbishop of America Iakovos, Ethnoarch Makarios, in collections in Greece, such as Spyrou Latsis, Dimitris Tsitouras and Vangelis Chronis, as well as in many other private collections in Greece and abroad.

For his work he has been awarded with honorary diplomas: from the General Staff of the Navy, from the Association of Greek Writers, from the Municipalities of Amorgos, Ios, Paros, Keas and Folegandros. In 1999, he was awarded a medal and diploma by the Ecumenical Patriarchate – Patriarchal Exarchate of Patmos, for his contribution to the organization of the Conference “Education in Patmos, the path to the 21st century”.

In 2008 he painted the Four Evangelists at the I.N. of Agios Nikolaos Folegandros and was awarded an honorary papyrus by the Metropolitan of Syros etc. Dorotheos V. He is the founder and president since 1984 of the Cultural Association “The Folegandros” and founder and director of the Folklore, of the Folegandros Open Air Museum.

Shipment / Delivery

The shipping of goods is made within three working days after the payment.
For our shipments we use the Greek Post Office (ELTA).
